Not bringing in the business you were six months ago? Even though you are managing your business the same way by writing articles, updating your web site, and sending email, has business suddenly dropped? Is the old ‘it’s just that time of year’ excuse wearing thin? If so, then your business may be dying right in front of you. Recognizing the signs early will help you salvage your internet home business and get you back on track.
1. Orders Are Down
If there has been less demand for your goods and services for more than a month and it is not during a regularly slow time, then you may have lost customers. You will need to rethink your marketing strategy in order to attract new customers.
You cannot afford to keep showing low profits. But you have the power to help yourself out of this rut by sending out new email campaigns, updating your web site, promoting your products on the internet.
2. Customer Inquiries Are Down
If clients are not contacting you as much about new projects, or if customers are not contacting you asking for additional information, then you may be in trouble. If your internet home business is lacking in interest, then you should find out why. Send out a questionnaire or poll to your existing customers and clients. Ask them about previous services, and what they want to see in the future. Then implement it.
3. Trying To Sell Products That Are No Longer Popular
Unfortunately, you must follow customer demand many times in order to stay in business, especially on the internet. You will need to constantly research new ideas and products. This is true of affiliate marketing because when a company is not doing well, the affiliate’s income will suffer as well. It is best to drop companies that are no longer profitable and find new ones that will be.
4. Decreasing Income Each Month
If you see a significant drop in income each month, then your business may be in trouble. This may be for several reasons. Either you are not bringing in the customers you once were or you are spending too much money on business expenses. In order to save money, make improvements that are absolutely necessary. Buy new software only when you need to. Find online advertising that won’t cost too much money each month.
5. Spending More Money Than What You’re Earning
If you are spending more money than what you are earning each month, then your business will be upside down by the end of the year. Cut back on spending and put that money back into your business.
6. Wasting Time
The key to any successful internet home business is spending time in the areas that will be the most profitable. You should be tracking where your business is coming from so that you can spend most of your time advertising there. While it is good to try new areas, make sure you have a steady stream of customers before venturing into new territory.
7. Dreaming, Instead Of Acting
Dreaming about the success of your internet home business will not make it successful. You must know everything that is going on and making changes when necessary. This will help keep your internet home business from dying.

Before the super fast days of the Internet, marketing plans had to incorporate a few set tools and techniques. An organization or business owner could place ads in newspapers, on radio, television, or even on billboards. They could do large direct mailings and they could use the telephone to connect with potential customers. All of this cost a lot of money and if no system for tracking results was in place, it could also be a huge waste of funds as well.
Today however there are many tools available for effective marketing, and also many ways to track results. One of the most potent and immediate approaches to a wide pool of potential customers is through eMail Marketing. It costs very little to create, provides instant results and can be targeted to an established group of confirmed customers or interested parties as well as broadcast to a purchased list of addresses.
Unfortunately, unscrupulous businesses and organizations have abused email marketing to the point that many people try to filter it out of their email boxes. This can be overcome by using a few different approaches, and one of the best is through a dedicated email marketing service. The best companies are able to deliver their messages to the vast majority of ISPs in the world because they are not formatted to the same low standards as the traditional “spam” that is undesirable.
What is an email marketing service? They are companies that provide the professional tools to help groups and businesses craft the strongest, most effective email marketing campaigns possible. They do this by supplying their clients with easy to use templates that require only “point and click” skills and a bit of typing. What these templates create are highly professional emails that look like the product of a major marketing or advertising firm and not something from a significantly smaller venue or business.
Additionally they increase their incredible value to a marketing campaign by providing the capability of inserting surveys and high-quality custom images into the email marketing materials. This can directly connect a company to their clients or potential clients by allowing for feedback and response. Many email marketing services also provide tracking and reporting which can help to keep email lists clean and free of uninterested or nonexistent names.
How do I select an email marketing service? The features to look for are ease of use, which means templates and no HTML, coding, graphic design or other skills needed for the user to create their materials. The service should be able to provide statistics about their success rate with the ISPs on the Internet, which means they should be able to provide the percentage of emails the customer can anticipate reaching email addresses. Affordability is key to the choice and this means that the service should ask for only a monthly rate with no additional fees tacked on top of it.
There are many reliable agencies offering support for email marketing and it is a proven approach to reliable and immediate results.

Your online or bricks and mortar electronics outlet may already be using an email marketing program to promote its products and keep in subscriber with current customers. But, how can you maximize the potential of this tool to create greater sales growth on a more consistent basis? One way to enhance your use of email marketing program is through expanding your subscriber list. Growing your subscriber list through promotions and contests can increase your potential for sales. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you why that’s where you want to be.
One effectual way to amplify your subscriber list with an email marketing program is to have contests, online or in your store. This form of promotion will act as an incentive for your customers to sign up to your mailing list. Your online store can place a sign-up box on its website, asking visitors to sign up to receive promotional offers. You can offer a free TV, computer, gaming system, or entertainment center. Give away whatever you can, depending on your budget. Just make sure the prize is relevant to your target audience, to ensure higher numbers are signing up.
Another way for an online store to increase sign-ups is through a “forward to friends” contest. This can be done from your website or from the emails that you send to your existing subscriber list from your email marketing program. The contest winners are those that sign up the most “friends” or “forward” the most emails. The better email marketing program solutions will offer you the option to automatically add a ‘Forward to a Friend’ link at the bottom of your emails. The very best email marketing program will even track which of your subscribers clicked on that link and forwarded your email contest to their friends.
In-store promotions and contests are quite similar. The only difference is that you have to present the promotion within your email campaigns, and not on your website. You will also provide the opportunity to sign up in store through an application form, or by dropping off their business cards. Within you email send outs you can also add the “forward to friends” promotion. eMail Marketing program can track your subscribers’ “clicks” to determine the winner of the contests.
Once you have a bigger audience, you can consistently promote and continually grow your database while also increasing your sales. Developing a plan to enhance your consumer base can have other positive effects too. If your contest becomes consistent (once a year, or one in summer/one in winter) you will create “a buzz” around your store.
This is a really big deal!
Having customers anticipating your promotions is the best way to increase your brand recognition and image to the public. You will have a competitive edge against the big box stores, and as an independently-owned electronics retailer you can’t ask for a better way to stay ahead of the conglomerates. So you’re well on your way to being one of the giants.
You’ve already seen how email marketing program can help you keep in contact with your current customers, so why not maximize the potential of your on-line or in-store electronics and technology store by using it to grow your subscriber list? The contests and promotions you establish through email marketing program will expand your number of subscribers as well as promote your brand name.
The bottom-line is that more subscribers translate to more potential sales.

Nope, that is not a typo, so don’t go emailing me or anything…
This represents the appearance of the typical subject line in many eMail Marketing campaigns. Too many characters!
Good thing I incorporated enough interest – gaining copy in the first few words, or you wouldn’t be reading this post right now. Not a good thing.
The full title to this post is actually “Your Email Marketing is Missing This Critical Piece…So it isn’t Even Being Read!”
Too long for an email subject line, which is the critical element in your email marketing that will determine whether or not your message is even opened. Most email programs can get 6 – 8 average length words in… before they use an ellipse to cut off the subject line, which allows this line to fit in the inbox.
So, when you are preparing an autoreposponder message to blast out to your list of hungry customers waiting to buy be sure to keep the subject line short. Try to think of fewer words to get the same message across. For example…
My “subject line” could be reduced to “Your emails are not being read!”
That delivers a high impact message which will compel the recipient to open and find out why their emails are not being read. This is the only purpose of the subject line in an email. Then, your message can carry it from their with high – impact, compelling copy.
And speaking of compelling copy in your message…
That is the other secret to email marketing.
You must carry the reader from the beginning of your message all the way to the end. In today’s online society, that is easier said than done.
Harder than sales copy on your website as a matter of fact.
So here is a few more tips for email messages:
1) Keep it brief unless your delivering “insider secrets” that totally will absorb your reader’s attention.
2) Use text to send your emails, not html. Most email programs will think your message is SPAM if you use html.
3) Give the next step. Tell the reader where to go three times in each email. A link, phone call, or other action.
That is all for this little lesson in email marketing…

eMail Marketing comes in a variety of flavors. Some are sent in plain text, others are html enriched that allow text, graphics and background. There are even some email marketing campaigns that provide an abbreviated email edition with a full version on their business website. Of course business owners provide ample links throughout their email to give the recipient as many opportunities as possible to drop by.
One of the more recent innovations in email marketing is video email. When I reviewed several video email sites I was impressed with a company called Talk Fusion. The video emails sent through the system do not require buffering and the voice and video match. In many ways it was just like watching TV.
The instant startup of the video message was impressive. My mind kept conjuring up a variety of marketing uses for video email.
For instance, if you have a brick and mortar store with an online presence you may use a video email message to congratulate a customer on a promotion, anniversary or birthday. Of course they get to see you personally deliver the video message, but your contact information is placed in the video email as well. For a one on one connection this type of email seems a better solution than more common ecards.
If your product is exclusive to an online community you can use video to demonstrate your product or provide a very personal touch in presenting the finer points of your product line.
The use of video email is likely to draw attention. One of the reasons I believe this to be true is that many email marketing campaigns are subject to intense skimming. The email recipient is perusing your email in an effort to see if it is worthwhile. With a video they may be more willing to simply view what you have to say without interruption. That would certainly hold the potential for a greater conversion rate.
In most cases it would be advisable to script your video email ahead of time and make sure it is clear and compact in presentation. Your customers value their time and if you ramble they are more likely to cut the viewing short.
It would even be possible with video email to take a short video streaming idea that may be new to your site and send a portion of it as a video email encouraging recipients to visit your website to view the entire stream.
If you are looking for a fresh idea for your email marketing campaign the potential for video email might just be enough to encourage you to give it a good look.
